World's Tallest Teen Brenden Adams (Photos)
Brenden Adams, a 14-year-old teen from Ellensburg, Washinton, is having a hard time fitting into his mom's SUV.
Brenden, you see, is 7-foot-5 and incredibly, still growing.
Brenden Adams has made it into the Guinness World Records 2010 book, as the tallest teenage boy on the planet.
Hi hoe size is a whopping 18. He has to duck through most doorways and sit sideways at his school desk because his knees don't fit under it.
His sky-scraping height has its perks -- "You don't get picked on as much" says the eighth-grader.
However, being the tallest teen is not all fun.
His extreme height comes with serious health problems, including enlarged joints and unusual blood counts. His body is riddled with tumours. He already has arthritis. He has had 12 extra teeth removed recently.
"I can't run anymore," Brenden said. "I can't be active like I used to."
As Brenden puts it, his unstoppable growth is due to "chromosome-12, a growth gene that broke in half and flipped over and reattached,"
Brenden is believed to be the only person in the world with the condition.
.
So, what does the future hold for him?
"It's unknown," said his doctor. "No other case is reported, nothing to look at -- it's an uncharted sea."
